EDP: There has been a devastating manhole failure in FBMUD 142. This is along the south side of Canyon Fields Drive on the property where the community center is located, at 26103 Canyon Fields Dr. We received a report about this sinkhole on Saturday morning. By about 2:00 PM Saturday we were able to start excavation and installed emergency bypass piping for the two sanitary sewer lines connecting to the manhole. We excavated just deep enough to allow for the bypass pipe installation; we did not dig to the bottom of the manhole. The bottom of the manhole is about 22 feet deep. Good news is that there was no sewer backup so there is no “unauthorized discharge” and the associated reporting required by the TCEQ. No customers were affected. Because of the mess in the area and the diesel pump installed in the road near homes, I will reach out to each of the affected customers to explain the situation.
FBMUD 142 Director: Thank you [EDP] for the comprehensive report of our sink hole repair plans. This shows me that we have the right operating company working for our District. Your team did a great job responding to this event amongst all the other activities last Saturday. We are thankful that EDP's response prevented any resident reports or required TCEQ reporting issues.

Sheila,
As you likely already know, EDP outdid themselves on Friday in our gated community. Two backhoe tractors, Supervisor Jerry and about 8 other ready-to-work EDP employees showed up here on South Alley Court early morning on Friday, August 4th to tackle 2 significant water leaks within a few hundred feet of each other. They did it fast, cleaned everything up, and replaced the fill dirt in the large holes before exiting. I know within the month EDP will be back out here once the fill dirt settles a bit more to sod both repaired areas.
This is a deeply appreciative Thank you from all of us over here, for a job well done. And, I must say, Jerry remains a no-nonsense, down-to-earth, and integrous individual.
In my few experiences with him, whatever he touches works!
Again, many thanks for your unique tenacity, follow-up, and follow-through on getting all of this handled in record time.
Thank you so much,
Jill

On Feb. 16, I received a card on my door from Christian, one of your technicians staging I had a leak on the customer side of the meter. I call a plumber out to check it out for me. He found no outward indication of an external leak. He shut off the valve at the house as well as the sprinkler supply. The meter was still turning, indicating water running through the meter. There were no muddy spots in the yard or flower beds and no standing water indicating a leak. So I called your office to send Christian back out to see if it was a meter problem or what. He came back out and did the same thing as the plumber with the valves at the house. He stomped around the mulch in a flower bed to see if there were any underground indications of a leak. He did notice that my driveway passes directly over a storm sewer line and he had seen in the past that the leaking water went to the storm sewer. He thought there might be a crack in the storm sewer lines and that that was where the water was going. So I called another plumber out to replace the feeder line to the house. After tunneling under the drive, he found the leak and replaced the line which stopped the water meter from constantly turning. I got hold of Christian and he verified all was well, now, no leak. I am writing this to see if there is anything you can do about our last water bill ( $342.25 ). If there had been any indication of a leak above ground, I would have taken care of the leak a lot sooner. I would appreciate any help you can provide. By the way, Christian was very polite and helpful through the process and in my estimation is a good asset to your company.

A customer in Cypress Forest PUD called to say she just loves this water company. She said everyone she has ever talked to at EDP has been so nice and helpful, especially a young man named Valentin. She said Valentin was a super sweet guy, extremely helpful and professional when he was investigating the sinkhole at her house. She just wanted to let us know how much she appreciates EDP and enjoys doing business with such a fine company.

Email from Customer:
Hello Chelsey,
I just received a voicemail stating that my account was credited $75.19. Chelsey, I really appreciate you following up and following through with getting the credit in front of the board. Often, companies say they will do something but do not always stand behind the words when the situation presents itself. I was so excited and pleased to hear of my 75.00 credit. The water leak and pluming issue has cost my household over $500.00. Please be sure to forward this message on to your direct manager and others to share my complete satisfaction, with EDP.
Please have a wonderful day and rest of the week.

Mike
Last week while attending the FBMUD 142 meeting, one of the Ashton Woods developers wanted to make sure I knew that Mike did an excellent job for him in MUD 501. He was talking about a meeting he attended in the field to discuss Towne Lake Section 40. This is only one of the many times I have heard from the Towne Lake developer(s) about the quality of work and the attention paid to that development by EDP with the credit always point at Mike.
We EDP was hired by Caldwell Co. for the Towne Lake Districts we were all very proud to land such a prestigious client. Towne Lake is four water districts and will be/is one of the highest quality developments I’ve ever been associated. It was my FIRST master planned community.
Thank you Mike.

I just left the plant and water has been fully restored and levels are rising in the GST. EDP is also currently turning back on the reclaimed water system and irrigation meters in the district. I just want to say that EDP did a great job of staying on top of this and getting all of the systems back online.

From a Board President:
Cathy,
George Ann and I would like to thank you for sending someone out to our house the other day at my request to check the sink holes. Kenneth was very helpful to George Ann in regards to checking things and answering George Ann’s questions. He was a very nice and courteous person. He left his shovel and George Ann called into your JV office and let them know. We put it on our front porch. He may have already picked it up.
